At the close of Book 5, there will be about 1250 stories.

I had no idea what I was embarking on 2 years ago this week. From the conversation surrounding dating, ‘accountability’, and men wanting the women they date to be like their mother and grandmothers came–this!

In being more cognizant of celebrating the small wins, I must be transparent. I didn’t know what was going to happen. What started with a series of funny comments, became a series.

Became a book. Became–5 books. Is now a podcast. Is now short stories. Is now a canon.

I am grateful, I am humbled, and all this because I can tell a story.

Note: It is with great joy that I tell you this series is going to ten books, and Season 2 of I NEED THE VELMAS Podcast returns on January 6, 2024. The show will be live on TikTok (@whatjayesaid2.0), AND the Facebook Group (I NEED THE VELMAS). By my estimating, by the time all 10 are completed–there will be over 2500 stories. This series will hereby be known as THE TRADITIONAL WOMEN STORYTELLING PROJECT.

All because The Kid can tell a story.
